The study of complex systems is an interdisciplinary and growing field of study, focused on dynamic networks of interactions and how they develop, adapt and evolve. This presentation examines the field of complexity theory and its application to contemporary and future security challenges and mitigation strategies. It will be argued that the security practitioner must be attuned to the full spectrum of threats on the horizon due to their increasingly unpredictable and cascading nature.
